Today, we’ll answer a question that many of you have: How can I emigrate to Australia?
While you may want a quick and straightforward answer, it is not that simple. To find the best path for you, you must first conduct a thorough assessment of your personal circumstances.
That’s why we’ll get to answer by…asking you some questions.
Is your profession on a skills shortage list?
One of the most popular ways to emigrate to Australia is through skilled migration. However, in order to take this route, you must work in an occupation that is on a skills shortage list.
There are three categories of skill shortages:
• List of Long-Term and Mid Strategic Skills (MLTSSL)
• Skilled Occupation List for the Short Term (STSOL)
• Regional Employment List (ROL)
However, having the “correct” job is only one part of the puzzle. You must also meet requirements for age, language, health, and character. Your points assessment, a crucial step in establishing your eligibility for a skilled migration visa, takes all of these variables into account.
Have you gotten a job offer?
You could immigrate to Australia with an employer-sponsored visa if you have a job offer. You have four options in this category:
Regional (Provisional) Visa for Skilled Workers Sponsored by an Employer (subclass 494)
Visa for Employer Nomination Scheme (subclass 186)
Visa for Regional Sponsored Migration Scheme (subclass 187)
Program for Global Talent Visas
With a job offer, you’ve only gotten over the first hurdle. You’ll still need to meet a few other requirements, just like with skilled migration visas.
Do you desire to go with your Australian companion?
If you wish to move to Australia to be with your Australian spouse, life partner, or fiance, Australia has a variety of visa alternatives. You have the following possibilities for visas:
- Partner visa (subclass 820): Under the subclass 820 visa, a de facto partner, spouse, or qualified New Zealand national may temporarily remain in Australia if they are a citizen of, a permanent resident of, or both of those countries. To obtain a permanent Partner visa, you must first obtain this visa (subclass 801).
- You can travel to Australia to get married to your future spouse using the prospective marriage visa (subclass 300), after which you can apply for a partner visa.
- Partner Provisional Visa (Subclass 309): This visa enables the de facto partner or partner of an Australian citizen, an Australian resident permit holder, or an eligible New Zealand citizen to partially reside in Australia. A permanent Partner visa can only be obtained after obtaining a subclass 309 visa (subclass 100).
There are various requirements for each of these visas. Your connection must be reliable and consistent in order to qualify for the 820 and 309 visas.
Do you wish to establish and operate a company in Australia?
If you wish to immigrate to Australia as an entrepreneur and you can meet the requirements, you have two visa alternatives. Both of these visa choices are covered by the Business Innovation and Investment program:
- business visa for innovative investment (subclass 188)
- Visa for Business Talent (subclass 132)
Visa under class 188
A temporary resident visa, the subclass 188 visa allows you to:
Establish;
Create; and
Organize a new or existing company.
Additionally, obtaining this visa is the first step towards being eligible for permanent residence through the Business Innovation and Investment visa (subclass 888).
Visa subclass 132
Subclass 132 is for qualified individuals who have received state nomination to establish or invest in a business. There are two application streams available:
- Significant Business History Stream: If you have a net business and personal assets of at least AU$1.5 million and an annual business turnover of at least AU$3 million, you can apply under this stream.
- Venture Capital Entrepreneur stream: If you have at least AU$1 million in venture capital funding to begin commercialization and development of a high-value business idea in Australia, you can apply under this stream.
Do you want to make an investment?
Using the Business Innovation and Investment visa, you can establish a business (subclass 188). With this visa, you can also choose to invest your way into Australian residency.
You will be given two options:
Investor stream: You want to do business in Australia and put at least AU$1.5 million into one of its states or territory as a designated investment.
Significant Investor Stream: You are willing to continue conducting business and making investments in Australia while contributing at least AU$5 million to legal investments.
You can apply for permanent residency, the subclass 888 visa, if you meet the requirements.
Do you wish to accompany your kids to Australia?
Australia is aware that families with members spread out throughout the world desire the chance to be together, even if only temporarily. Due to this, Australia provides eligible nationals of New Zealand and Australians with established status with a variety of visa alternatives, including:
- Parent visa (subclass 103): This visa allows parents to live permanently in Australia.
- Aged Parent Visa (Subclass 804): This visa allows an elderly parent to immigrate to Australia and offers them permanent status. A person who is old enough to qualify for the Australian age pension is referred to as a “aged parent.”
- The Contributory Aged Parent visa (subclass 884) allows an elderly parent to temporarily reside in Australia. You must be sponsored by a qualified sponsor, who is typically a qualified child. You can use the subclass 864 visa to apply for permanent residency if you match the conditions.
- Parent may temporarily reside in Australia with the Contributory Parent visa (subclass 173). Similar to the 884 visa mentioned above, you must be sponsored by a child who qualifies. In a similar vein, if you match the requirements, you will be given the chance to apply for permanent residency.
